O.J. Simpson, Ex-NFL Player Acquitted of Murder: Dies at 76
When American former NFL star O.J. Simpson passed away at 76 after battling cancer, it brought back memories of a shocking moment involving Kim Kardashian's father. In the 1990s, O.J. Simpson was close with Robert Kardashian, Kim's dad. Robert had even helped out during O.J.'s infamous murder trial for the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

One incident, later portrayed in a TV series, was particularly startling. Before the infamous Bronco car chase, Robert found O.J. in Kim's room, of all places. O.J. was making a “suicide tape” and had pictures of Nicole and their kids, Justin and Sydney. He even said, “I'm going to kill myself in this room.” Robert was shocked, and he told him he couldn't do that in his daughter's room. He couldn't bear the thought of Kim being exposed to such a thing.
O.J.'s passing was announced on social media by his family, asking for privacy during their time of mourning. It was revealed that he had been battling prostate cancer, and earlier in the year, he had denied rumors of being in hospice care, instead posting about hosting friends for the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
In 1994, O.J. faced accusations of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. He was acquitted after a highly publicized trial but was later found responsible in a civil lawsuit, resulting in a $33.5 million damages verdict against him.
Then in 2007, O.J. was convicted for his part in an armed robbery in Las Vegas and was given a 33-year sentence. He was granted parole in 2017 and released from prison.
The news of O.J. Simpson's death has brought back discussions about his troubled life and legal battles, especially his complex relationship with Robert Kardashian and the lingering questions from the murder trial.
