After a month of investigation, the New South Wales police announced on Tuesday that they wouldn't pursue further action.
The confrontation took place after Scott and Taylor disembarked from a yacht, following her final Eras Tour show in Sydney.
A video from Australian media shows Taylor walking with her father and security guards under an umbrella at around 2:30 AM local time.
In the footage, there's an argument between a photographer and a guard about touching umbrellas, but it's not clear if this is related to the alleged incident.
McDonald had previously told the BBC that Scott Swift attacked him without reason while Taylor was already in a car.
However, Taylor's representative stated that two individuals were aggressively approaching Taylor, grabbing at her security, and threatening a female staff member.
Known as “Papa Swift” among fans, Scott Swift had been accompanying Taylor on her global Eras Tour and left Australia shortly after the incident.
