Pro-Palestinian Protesters Burn American Flag in NYC

In Brooklyn, NYC, there was a protest where a person burned an American flag. The video of this moment went viral, shared by a user named Katie Smith. In the video, you can see the person setting the flag on fire outside Brooklyn Borough Hall. One protester was holding a sign that said “Free Palestine OR ELSE,” while others waved the Hezbollah flag and chanted “death to America.”

On another occasion, hundreds of anti-Israeli protesters gathered in Lower Manhattan on April 15, causing chaos on the Brooklyn Bridge and bringing traffic to a standstill on its Manhattan-bound side. Police, wearing riot gear, were trying to control the situation.

This protest is the latest in New York City since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. According to a protester on the bridge who spoke to the New York Post, some people managed to get over the bridge before police started making arrests.

Although only one official arrest has been reported so far, around two dozen other individuals were seen being handcuffed at the protest. When the marchers saw the police arriving, many of them dispersed.

Smoke was observed outside One Police Plaza around 7:30 pm on Monday, with some protesters lighting flares and chanting pro-Palestinian slogans.

The NYPD mentioned that officers first responded to a planned protest on Wall Street around 2:15 pm, organized by a group called Within Our Lifetime. However, the marchers eventually moved towards the bridge.

In a separate incident, certain protesters blocked a road to arrivals and departures at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, with up to four vehicles obstructing the road. Some passengers had to get out of their cars and walk past the protest with their luggage to avoid missing their flights.
