Cody Honors Paul Walker: Son Named after “Fast & Furious”
It has been almost a decade since the tragic passing of Paul Walker at the age of 40 in a car accident, but his brother Cody is determined to keep the memory of the late actor alive.
As reported by People, Cody Walker and his wife Felicia recently welcomed their newborn son, whom they named Paul Barrett (“Bear”) Walker, as a heartfelt tribute to the fallen “Fast & Furious” star. The baby boy was born last month.
Cody Walker spoke to the publication, explaining his decision, “This November will mark 10 years since we lost my brother, Paul, and I just felt now was the appropriate time.”
He further revealed that Paul Walker was officially Paul William Walker IV, a name that had been carried through four generations in the family. Within the family circle, Paul was fondly referred to as “little Paul” or “Paul 4,” despite quickly surpassing their father in height. Cody expressed his deep desire to continue the legacy of that cherished name.
While confirmation from representatives of Cody Walker regarding this touching gesture, it remains evident that the family is determined to honor Paul Walker‘s memory in a meaningful way.
Paul Walker tragically passed away in late November 2013, during the production of “Furious 7.” Following a necessary hiatus, the filming resumed with Cody Walker and their brother Caleb stepping in as stand-ins for their late sibling.
The circumstances surrounding Paul Walker's untimely death involved him being a passenger in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by a racing team partner. The vehicle collided with a light pole and caught fire in an office park in Santa Clarita, around 30 miles north of Hollywood.
In recent years, Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow Walker Thornton-Allan, has also become involved in the film franchise that made her father a household name, “Fast & Furious.” She made a cameo appearance in the latest installment titled “Fast X.”
Meadow Walker Thornton-Allan shared her excitement about being part of the movie on her verified Instagram page, reflecting on her lifelong connection to the franchise. “The first fast was released when I was one year old! I grew up on set watching my father, Vin, Jordana, Michelle, Chris, and more on the monitors,” she wrote. “Thanks to my dad, I was born into the fast family. I can't believe now I get to be up there too.”
Cody Walker's decision to name his newborn son after his late brother Paul is a touching tribute that ensures the actor's memory lives on. The enduring legacy of Paul Walker continues to resonate with his family and fans worldwide, reminding us of the impact he had both on and off the screen.
