Sudarshan Setu: PM Modi Inaugurates Gujarat's Signature Bridge
Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, recently inaugurated the Sudarshan Setu in Gujarat, a significant moment for the state. This bridge, also known as the Okha-Beyt Dwarka Signature Bridge, stretches 2.5 kilometers long and holds great importance for both locals and pilgrims visiting the Dwarkadhish Temple.

On Sunday, February 25, Prime Minister Modi unveiled this bridge, which is India's longest cable-stayed bridge, connecting the Okha mainland with the Beyt Dwarka island. The project costs around ₹980 crore and is a vital link for the people of Gujarat, especially those visiting the revered Dwarkadhish Temple.

Modi expressed his excitement for the project on social media, calling it a significant addition to Gujarat's development. He referred to the Sudarshan Setu as “a bridge that connects lands and people,” highlighting its importance for connectivity in the region.

- The bridge features solar panels on the footpath, generating one megawatt of electricity.
2. With four lanes and 2.50-metre-wide footpaths on each side, it's a spacious and modern infrastructure.
3. The foundation for the bridge was laid by PM Modi in October 2017.
4. Its construction cost amounted to ₹978 crore.
5. The footpath of the Sudarshan Setu is adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna, adding a spiritual touch.

6. Previously, pilgrims had to rely on boat transport to reach the Dwarkadhish Temple in Beyt Dwarka.

In addition to inaugurating the Sudarshan Setu, PM Modi also opened Gujarat's first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot. This AIIMS is one of five being inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Rajkot. Furthermore, he will inaugurate and launch projects totaling ₹48,000 crore across various sectors such as NHAI, railways, energy, petrochemicals, roads, and buildings, highlighting the government's commitment to development and progress in the region.
