Get ready for the second phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2024, happening on April 26! This time around, 89 constituencies across 13 states will be up for grabs. On April 19, we saw the first phase with a turnout of about 64%, and now it's time for phase two.

This phase covers a wide range of areas, including Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Here's a breakdown of the second phase:

  • Assam: 5 constituencies, including Karimganj, Silchar, Mangaldoi, Nawgong, and Kaliabor.
  • Bihar: 5 constituencies, including Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Bhagalpur, and Banka.
  • Chhattisgarh: 3 constituencies, including Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker.
  • Jammu & Kashmir: 1 constituency, Jammu.
  • Karnataka: 14 constituencies, including Udupi Chikamagalur, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore North, Bangalore Central, Bangalore South, Chikballapur, and Kolar.
  • Kerala: 20 constituencies, including Kasaragod, Kannur, Vatakara, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Ponnani, Palakkad, Alathur, Thrissur, Chalakudy, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Mavelikkara, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Attingal, and Thiruvananthapuram.
  • Madhya Pradesh: 7 constituencies, including Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Hoshangabad, and Betul.
  • Maharashtra: 8 constituencies, including Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal-Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, and Parbhani.
  • Manipur: 1 constituency, Outer Manipur.
  • Rajasthan: 13 constituencies, including Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota, and Jhalawar-Baran.
  • Tripura: 1 constituency, Tripura East.
  • Uttar Pradesh: 8 constituencies, including Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Aligarh, Mathura, and Bulandshahr.
  • West Bengal: 3 constituencies, including Darjeeling, Raiganj, and Balurgha

1. Wayanad, Kerala: This constituency is buzzing with anticipation as Rahul Gandhi aims for re-election. He secured a massive victory in 2019 but faces a tough challenge this time from Annie Raja.

2. Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Shashi Tharoor, a seasoned Congress leader, is locking horns with BJP's Rajeev Chandrasekhar and the CPI's Pannyan Raveendran in a bid to maintain his stronghold.

3. Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: Hema Malini, known both for her acting and political career, is seeking a third term. Mukesh Dhangar from Congress is gearing up to give her a run for her money.

4. Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: Arun Govil, famous for playing Lord Ram in the Ramayan TV series, is stepping into the political arena against BSP's Devvrat Kumar Tyagi and SP's Sunita Verma.

5. Kota Bundi, Rajasthan: Om Birla, the current Speaker of Lok Sabha, is aiming for a third consecutive win. He's facing off against Congress' Prahlad Gunjal in this traditionally Congress stronghold.

6. Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh: The battle here features BJP's Santosh Pandey and Congress' Bhupesh Baghel, a former chief minister. Rajnandgaon has long been BJP's territory, but Baghel's entry spices things up.

7. Bangalore South, Karnataka: Tejasvi Surya, the young face of BJP, is seeking re-election against Congress' Sowmya Reddy. He's riding on the wave of his previous victory.

8. Bangalore Rural, Karnataka: DK Suresh, brother of Karnataka's deputy CM DK Shivakumar, is up for re-election against the BJP-JD(S) combine's CN Manjunath. It's a family affair with high stakes.
