Babar Azam's Birthday in Bengaluru: Pakistan Gears Up for World Cup vs. Australia

Pakistan's cricket team arrived in Bengaluru, India, on a relatively low-key note after their recent match against India in Ahmedabad. However, their arrival did not stop them from celebrating their captain Babar Azam‘s 29th birthday in style. The team gathered at their hotel, cutting a cake to mark the occasion.

Despite the subdued atmosphere due to their travel day, the players and support staff attended the small celebration. An official accompanying the team explained, “There were not many activities today as it was a travel day, and the team will soon start preparations for the upcoming matches.”

Pakistan is set to face Australia on October 20 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, and after their recent seven-wicket loss to India, they are determined to put up a better performance.

This visit to Bengaluru holds special significance for Pakistan, as it is their first trip to the city since 2012. Back then, they emerged victorious against India in the first T20I match of a two-match series. Moreover, Pakistan has only played two ODIs in Bengaluru, one in the quarterfinals of the 1996 World Cup and the other in the final of the Pepsi Cup. While they lost the World Cup match, they secured a resounding victory against India by 123 runs in the Pepsi Cup.

One of the team's officials expressed their contentment with their Bengaluru visit, saying, “Bengaluru is a welcoming city, and we are happy to be here. The climate seems a lot cooler here. Hopefully, there will not be any rain issues, as we have seen some reports of heavy rains in certain parts of South India.”

In addition to the anticipation surrounding the matches, the Karnataka State Cricket Association announced the commencement of ticket sales for the upcoming World Cup matches at the venue. Tickets will be available at counters on Cubbon Road and Queens Road from Tuesday to Thursday.

For the Australia vs. Pakistan match, the ticket prices range from ₹1,000 for the H-Lower Stand to ₹25,000 for the high-end P-Terrace seats. These rates are also applicable to the Pakistan vs. New Zealand match scheduled for November 4.

As the cricketing world focuses on these upcoming matches, Pakistan remains determined to make their mark in Bengaluru and put on a show for their fans.
